Rubbish

Stitch and I took ourselves off for a jaunt around the fields this morning, which lead to the little fella having to rest for a while on our return, once the hoover came out that all changed, he doesn't like it much at all, it was ok as long as I didn't move it, and I have to say a certain Little King used to complain about the noise of my hoover many moons ago, I just thought he was being a fussy teenager, especially if you think that when he listened to music with his ear buds in I could hear word for word what the so called singers were saying, anyway I had tried to deal with Stitch by giving him treats whilst I was hoovering but this only worked temporarily and I had a big space to hoover, so I had to resort to putting him in his crate, he really didn't mind he sat there nice and quiet and didn't even moan when I hoovered the top of his crate.

Next thing I washed the floors, Stitch doesn't have a problem with the mop at all, in fact he likes it so much he tries to eat it whilst I'm cleaning, it's really not a good idea to wash whilst your hound is attached to the end of your mop, it makes the mop heavy and the dog messy.

Once the house was spick and span I headed up for a shower then Stitch and I walked to into town, I really need to get a no pull harness for this hound, he will break his little neck if he is not careful, we walked through the litter strewn streets out the back of Kolossi, why would you want to live there, Stitch found bones of some kind on the road and before I could catch him it was half way down his throat. One other time we were walking out and around the fields we came across a whole carcass minus the head, the shoulders, the spine, the works, just dumped on the edge of the grass, some people really are mingers, I really don't understand the need to throw your rubbish out when bins are provided, but throw it they do, and they don't really care where it ends up.

Stitch and I had another nice long walk this afternoon around Kolossi and back again, he met in with a very strange looking bitch who had an overbite to frighten you, how that dog chewed anything other than its top lip is beyond me, but it didn't look malnourished so it was obviously eating somehow.  A couple of the local children had a chat with Stitch, he sniffed their shoes but wasn't much interested in anything else, most people that come across the wee man fall for his debonair charm, he remains aloof most of the time, unless there is food involved then he wants you to be his best friend, he has now taken to rubbing himself up our legs whilst we sit at the sofa, in a previous life I think he must have been a cat.

Training is going well and today I was really quite impressed with myself he now shakes hands, quite a neat trick I managed to teach him, he will also sit at the door and wait until I say go before he will go out, although this did take a little bit longer to learn, but not letting him through the door until he waited and sat proved invaluable when you want to go out yourself and get the washing in.

My beloved came in today with gifts, it's two years since we left the UK and in Israel we had numerous trips to the cinema and although the films were great the seats comfortable and the company wonderful, the popcorn was salty, having now moved to Cyprus we have been once only to the cinema, mainly because unlike Israel with its multiscreen complexes on every other corner, and full to overflowing screenings Cyprus appears non plussed by the whole movie industry, screenings are only on in the evenings and usually around 8pm or worse still after 11, and you don't have an allocated seat it is a free for all, all three of you...... We went to see Jack Reacher recently and we were the youngest couple there, the others were over sixty and on their pensioner passes, there was only about a dozen of us at most watching the film and once again the popcorn was salty, so getting back to my beloved and my gift, two large bags of sweet popcorn, and I'm not talking the toffee kind, proper UK sweet popcorn, oh my god I tore into the first back life a woman possessed, not a great idea before supper I have to say, but then I was very naughty and as my beloved had not seen Stitch's new hand shake I gave him some popcorn as a treat whilst displaying his shake, oh dear so now Stitch likes popcorn too.

Stitch's handshake for some popcorn, can you tell he likes it

The neighbours goat, with the longest ears ever, this is the fella that jumps up the washing line to muddy the clothes
