An indication as to how my day is going, well today as you know is yesterday and tomorrow is today, and most mornings I have trouble remembering which today I'm actually on, but the occurrences of this morning have wiped my memory of yesterday's today and lead me to the conclusion that either dementia has arrived, all be it stealthily through the night or at least the last few weeks, or I am in fact losing my mind both of which lead to the same place TODAY, the today of the here and now. Confused you will be, I'm sure this sort of thing doesn't just happen to me, there must be other unsuspecting souls out there just like me, minding their own business, going about their yesterdays, working on tomorrows when bham life turns you on your head and says Harrroooo look at me, and they forget everything they should be doing today because tomorrow's today has arrived early.
I got up this morning a little later than usual, now I do mean this morning, not yesterdays and not tomorrows, I came downstairs and thought I had better feed Stitch as he has started to leave his food if fed too early, not good when you get water on your food, I wouldn't want to eat soggy breakfast and obviously Stitch doesn't like it much either, so rather than throw away uneaten food, we decided to wait a little longer to feed him, so this morning he got his food, with a little added something as I have now got him some Royal Jelly, Isle of Dogs 91 supplement to help with his dry skin, really that is one pampered pooch, he finished his food without resistance and I took him outside, as is the usual recently he decides to stay outside a little longer than myself and suddenly I hear a lot of barking, I put my head out the door to witness next door's goat climbing over the fence, up over our kleftico oven and into our garden, holy cow I nearly had a cow, most of you know I am not the best with animals that come above knee level and this thing goes way above my comfort level, Stitch was barking the goat was bleating, me I was petrified, these things are ok as long as they are over there and not over here, the goat ran the dog followed, the goat chased the dog the dog ran away, all around the garden they went, until Stitch once again had the thing on the run, then this is what happened
Yes I had a goat in the living room, oh me, oh my it was all over my living room and kitchen bleating, Stitch was straight in behind it, and I was trying to get in front of it to get it back out the door, eventually I managed to walk it back out again, and now I needed to get it back to it's owner, I called my neighbours wife who has no English and gesticulated the fact that I am now the owner of a goat and I do believe she didn't ignore me but went in search of her daughter who does speak English, by which time I had managed to get the goat to follow me whilst being chased from a distance by Stitch and we eventually managed to get the thing back to the gates of it's own house. I picked Stitch up and he was sweating, I didn't realise dogs sweat, his heart was racing as fast as mine, and I really don't think he will need a walk this morning as the amount of running he and the goat had done was enough for two walks. I can only thank all that is merciful that the bloody goat didn't do its business in my living room, because one I would have had to clean it and two the dog would have tried to eat it!!!!
Stitch is now laying in the sun resting, whist I'm on my third coffee....................
