Today was implementation day, the start of the consistent training with Stitch, everything he did was governed by us and we were off to a good start, he sits 99% of the time to get his lead on, he waits before leaving the house for us to go first, and his recall is the 1% I'm still working on, in fact today I even managed to get him to stop chewing at the broom head when I was sweeping, I would say that was a success.
Stitch and I were picking up the keys to the new house today and doing the inventory with the Agent, we arrived at 9.30 with a car full of suitcases and set about the tasks at hand, I called out the belongings and Tony the Agent wrote them down, once that was done I unpacked the cases, hung up my belongings and soon discovered the flaw in the house!!! The wardrobes although plentiful were set in such a way that a small person could not reach the hanging rail for clothes, who would design a house with great wardrobes that only an Amazonian could reach.
I swept through the living areas and organised the kitchen as the owner had a plentiful supply of utensils I don't need to use, once they were rehoused it was time to head back to Kolossi and refill the cases for the second trip. I decided to take Stitch for a walk as he had been stuck at the house with me all morning, so we walked out the back of Kolossi unfortunately it wasn't such a great walk for poor Stitch who started retching, and I couldn't get his cone of shame off before he threw up in it, I had to dismantle the cone and deal with a dog with vomit all over his chin, most attractive. We continued on our walk and then the cone was washed along with the chin and collar, why is it vomit gets everywhere.
More bags were packed, my beloved was left to his own shirts, you have no idea how OCD he is about his shirts getting creased, he even carried the suitcase downstairs without tilting it so they wouldn't crease!!!! We took another trip up to Pareklissia and tried our best to get all our clothes in the wardrobes, we have now realised that the second odd thing with the house is the placement of the bedroom door in relation to the wardrobes, it was a case of one in one out, I couldn't hang my clothes if my beloved was working his wardrobe as they faced one another and the door way was between the two, so we took it in turns, my beloved has decided he is shotgun in the morning when it comes to getting ready....
I forgot to mention thanks to my training with Lindsay I dealt with two Golden Labradors who came about this morning as Stitch and I were walking around Kolossi, now being a coward and I mean me not the dog, I thought I did marvellously, they all had a sniff and eventually I picked up Stitch as it was getting a little too boisterous and I could see a cluster coming, already having jabbed one of them in the neck when it tried to jump up I was feeling quite brave in a totally 'oh s@@t' kind of way, and as they started to follow us I gave them my sternest voice pointed at them and said 'stay', WOW they did exactly that, Stitch was able to go down and continue on his walk.
Now just before our second visit to Pareklisia I had Stitch on the lead again and spotted a lone Doberman in the distance, to hell with that I did an about turn and headed back to my beloved who I shouted at and said STAY so he could protect me should the need arise, I might be brave with Labradors but Dobermans are a whole other story.
