Psycho Stitch

Wednesday

Once again an early start, this holiday malarky is becoming very tiring, we headed to Heathrow Terminal 5, my beloved to purchase a bus ticket to Luton airport and myself to catch the flight to Larnaca, we said our goodbyes after eating breakfast and headed off in different directions, having already checked in and had my bag tagged I was told to just go straight to the front and hand my bag in, this did not go down well with the large contingent from some African nation who bustled and blustered that 'I won't let you in', needless to say the lovely lady at the desk took my bag and said Africans apologised, enough said.

Once through security it was time to browse the shops, I bought two books I probably won't read and a couple of packs of gum as you can't get Extra in Cyprus, then I checked out all the nice bags and found one I really liked shame it had such a hefty price tag for such a small bag, so I have to content myself with my Accessorize handbag purchased previously, next it was a thirst quenching soda and a read of one of my new books, so I have started to read it but will I finish it, we will have to see, have you ever noticed that at airports the books are always the large versions, almost as big as a hardback but not quite so sore when you drop them on your face, they make for sore fingers when holding the pages back too, I wouldn't mind if the print was bigger but no I'm still squinting when wearing lenses, and that's with new lenses.

Anyway the rest of my wait was uneventful, well apart from meeting the man I met in Harley Street for an appointment who happened to be on my flight back to Larnaca. I slept on and off through the flight but I have to say the seat was great, I hate plane seats, being short my feet never reach the floor which causes slumping, this in turn causes other problems but my seat was ace 39B you are my saviour, only one seat next to me, plenty leg room and feet both on the floor, recline worked and I was closest to the toilet and galley what could be better.

It was a quick stroll through customs and homeward bound, the house was in darkness when I arrived and the water off, for some reason and we know it wasn't us the pump had been switched off, could have been the pool man but he should be dealing with pool pumps not house pumps, so once I had worked out the pump was off I sorted that problem made myself a coffee then took a lovely shower before heading to bed.

Thursday

Early start again, when will this torture ever end, this time it was off to The Happy Valley Dog Hotel to collect my little Stitch, who went mental when they bought him through, I like to think it was because he remembered me but it was probably the cry for freedom, once I managed to get the lead on a very excitable Stitch and get him in the car I realised that he had very obviously been bathed and in something akin to Eau De Manstink, to say he was swathed in a heady concoction of Man cologne and doggie wash was an understatement and lead to all windows being cracked on the journey home, psycho Stitch spent most of the journey under the passenger seat, how he managed to crawl under there is beyond me, but I only realised he wasn't in the back footwell when he emerged at the front footwell when I pulled up to the bakers.

Once home the madness continued, firstly with the racing around the garden chasing imaginary cats (no rabbits at this house), secondly with a bath, that Eau De Manstink had to go, and thirdly with all my training in previous weeks lodged somewhere in Stitch's brain but obviously somewhat clouded by the fact that he has just spent 11 days in the doggie hotel probably listening to no one and lazying around all day in the Cyprus sunshine, he very obviously is Cypriot.

The later part of the afternoon was spent trying to sort out my car, having hired my car for 35euro I have now been informed that summertime has arrived and the same car will now be costing 99euro per week, and seeing as I am uninsured to drive the jeep I have no choice but to hire it again for a week as my beloved really won't want to walk home from the airport.

Poor Stitch had a little mishap in the living room, luckily some would say right next to me which mean't thankfully I didn't walk through it, I really need to teach him how to ask to pee outside.  After I cleaned up I took him out for a walk, rather stupidly and when I think about it now the psycho Stitch should have warned me but for some reason I decided to take Stitch out without his lead, super! We walked up the hill did the business and then a car came down the hill, now normally my little buddy is rather reluctant to even look at cars, but today after waiting very nicely for the car to pass he took off after it like a hare out the traps, thank god the fog is clearing in his little brain as when I shouted 'HERE' at the top of my voice he abruptly stopped and looked at me, this occurred on our second walk too only this time I had him on a lead, every car that went past he tried to chase, go figure how can you go from being frightened of traffic to chasing it in just 11 days.

Stitch and I spent a pleasant evening watching the computer as still no TV set up yet or internet (just saying), I also had to clean the car seat as I had inadvertently spilt hand cream all over the front seat, please god it doesn't stain, and I wouldn't mind but the hand cream belongs to Stitch as I use it for his ears, therefore I didn't make the mess psycho Stitch did!

My beloved now has a lovely new passport, and bless those lovely Glaswegians who told him they would have sorted his problem out instead of sending him away like the London folk did.

3AM and I'm up for water, as I hadn't covered Stitch's crate I woke him, I think it's not just Stitch that is having problems with cloudy memory - Stitch went out in the garden as it was only fair as I had woken in but the little bugger decided to pee up my sunbed, I just caught him leg all cocked, so my quick drink of water turned into a slurp and then a deep clean of the bed leg and patio, thankfully I don't have to be up early tomorrow!!!!!!
