Flaouna

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, my first long lie since leaving Cyprus on March 25th and it was heaven, milling around the house in my dressing gown proved a little embarrassing when the internet man and gardener turned up, does no one knock at the door in this country, even to introduce themselves would be nice, having to ask a gentleman who is standing in your garden 'and who are you' can be a tad cringeworthy when your wearing a rather fetching house coat you only threw on to stop the dog from being mortified by your nakedness, the hair was like a fur ball stuck on all over my face, but luckily since visiting Harley Street the eyebrows looked magnificent..

I set about the cleaning chores with gusto once I threw on some clothes, I didn't bother to shower which was a good job really as by the time I had finished hoovering the floors then washing them I was sorely in need of a hose down, I don't know why I didn't think to put the air con units on to at least keep me cool whilst scrubbing but there you have it, I was like a washed out rag by the time I finished and I actually think the house coat worn earlier probably looked better than I did at that time. Trying to wash floors when the pad of little feet follow your every move can make floor cleaning very time consuming.  The glass inside and out is now sparkling and I would like to report I can now clean glass, obviously Cypriot glass is different to Israeli glass as it didn't matter what I did, or which product I used in Israel the glass always looked awful.

Stitch has calmed down quite considerably since I collected him from his Hotel, even to the point of ignoring the bin men when they collected the rubbish, thankfully that is as the last time they drove straight past, it must have been the fact that I left the bin in the path of the lorry that made them stop as it would have been a bit messy had they run over it.  Chasing cats is still high on the agenda for cats, real or imaginary he run around the garden like a thing possessed whenever he gets out, although he hasn't been back across the neighbours roof again, I thought I was going to have to get the fire brigade had he not made his own way back, we have a lovely garden with beautiful stonework, all at varying heights but this just makes for an exciting playground for a hound who likes to chase cats, and leads to some crafty roof walking too.

After eventually deciding I could stand the smell no more I hit the shower and made myself all pretty for collecting my beloved and his new passport from Larnaca, Stitch and I set off and headed first to the supermarket to collect some supplies, my beloved has requested Thai Chicken and mushroom soup for his supper so I duly obliged with his request and added a couple of rolls and two Flaounes a traditional bread made in Cyprus, it is a celebratory food made for the breaking of the lenten fast

'These classic inclusions in Cypriot cuisine are traditionally made on Good Friday so that they are ready on Eastern Sunday. In many communities, Christians attend a midnight service on the night before Easter, and after the service they celebrate with feasts which include foods which were forbidden during Lent, including eggs, dairy, and meat. Flaounes are also offered to guests as a breakfast food, and they are traditionally exchanged as gifts of friendship and goodwill, along with traditional red eggs'.

After finishing the shopping it was straight to the airport to wait for my beloved, as it turned out the plane was delayed and he eventually came through arrivals just a tad later that he should have, but that just gave me more time to not read my book and drink a frappe.

We walked to the car and Stitch had another mad moment catching up with his human dad before we headed home, we spent a lovely evening watching the computer and chilling with Stitch snuggled up between us.

Now to prepare for our next adventure we both have new passports and no Israeli stamps so that can only mean one thing, we are on the move again and this time we are heading for KSA otherwise known as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, well once visa's are in place that is, and who knows how long that will take, maybe we will get a summer at our house, and maybe not....
